Dear Members of the Temecula City Council, I am writing in advance of the August 11th meeting to submit public comment on the City's herbicide and pesticide practices, as I am unable to attend and speak in person. I respectfully ask the Council to consider and vote on the following: 1. Subcommittee appointment — Council member: Appoint Brenden Kalfus to the subcommittee, given his sustained involvement in this issue since 2025. 2. Subcommittee appointment — Resident members: Appoint Mariane Konstantaras and Ryan Trachman as the Temecula resident representatives on the subcommittee. 3. Public notification requirement: Adopt a requirement of 48-hour advance public notice prior to any herbicide application on City property, including the specific herbicide name, with the notice remaining posted for 24 hours following application. 4. Pilot program confirmation: Confirm that a pilot program for organically maintained turf will be implemented, with one park designated in each district. Many residents — including families with young children who use these parks daily — are asking for greater transparency and safer alternatives. I appreciate the Council's consideration of these requests and hope to see them reflected in the City's policy going forward. Thank you for your time and continued service to our community. Respectfully, __NAME__ __CITY__
